To get folks excited about a new platform, you should let them explore a bit - Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram - even Facebook to some extent all let you explore the platform and any posts that are not restricted by individual privacy settings.
Fair point! One of the graphic designers Shelley here at our office echoed your sentiments:
"i feel like they for sure needed to either update their icon or somethingggg but i think they’ve lost a little individuality. maybe they should have redrawn their icon to match their new wordmark too? although they still have the daddy as their favicon i noticed lol. so i guess they can use him when the wordmark won’t do."
Really great article and some valuable insights. If you take topic requests, I'd love to see more about what website creation PLATFORMS could do to create better drag and drop platforms that support accessibility, and produce accessible websites.
So... Basically the Sobey's logo without italics... I have to say, big upgrade to lose the "daddy" clipart though. Because that was cringeworthy.
Thank you so much! These are all really excellent suggestions. The no laptop rule is pretty great, would be REALLY hard to achieve at our company, but I'm going to try. ;)
Soooo awesome! I love "hangry birds" the most, but "clique" and "the fall" are competing for 2nd place. :)
Bahaha. Well played.
Total squee moments scrolling through. <3 Really love this.
The thing that kind of irks me about this is that it invites people to "speak your mind" ... and yet there is absolutely no customizing of the text itself. If I choose "sadness" Ican only randomize between things like "I feel foolish/mardy/sad," etc. That's not speaking my mind, and this doesn't really feel like making art. Not trying to knock an effort to raise funds for mental health, but it's weird to invite people to speak their minds and limit them to some randomized cliches. :(
