Automatic programming is really about productivity and not automation / job replacement - the tech is applied to automatic generation of unit tests, for example, which augment human coding.

My question is whether automatic programming for an InVision based comp would be valuable to users like you? Would you pay for this if it was a paid plug-in/upgrade to InVision? Or, if this was a service that allowed design studios to more confidently submit bids to clients for app development, would that be valuable?

Any interest in having something like this for InVision for mobile app code development?

Will this be domain specific? We found it helpful for our focus (native iOS / Android MVP projects) to build a specific estimator -- https://snapmvp.com

As a developer, I personally try to only work with talented designers (yup, all of you...) & would love to qualify any contract work I do with something like a combination of a proto.io prototype with a "smartGOAL" spec -- as a precondition to any work.

Can you add a "Hire A Developer" button to proto.io that's only active once the project goals, schedule, test & deployment plans are clear?

Oh, and allow me to bid on placement in the listing... allow me to pay you to bid for the good stuff...

Currently, making heavy use of React Storybook to design at the component level and then test in-context: https://voice.kadira.io/introducing-react-storybook-ec27f28de1e2

Thanks for the responses. It's been nice to connect with you on Twitter and learn about your personal projects. For what it's worth, I would categorize the responses into three groups:

    • Change the World : love this, the projects have ranged from better ways to shop online, to advising on clean energy options. wow.

    • Learn to Code : here the projects are small, task focused or framework focused; this makes sense, of course, and I guess the analogy would be for a developer like me diving deep into font design!

    • Community : it's been nice to see responses like the one below (Thanks Trevor!); it seems this community really enjoys being productive and offer to help.

I'll try my best to turn this into a positive experience & look forward to chatting with you over the break!

  • Posted to Designcode.io or other resource for a designer curious on app-development?, in reply to Meng To , Nov 09, 2016

Hi Meng, I had a quick look at your agenda and didn't see two topics that I would expect new developers to want to learn more about: dependency managers like CocoaPods, and modern backends like Firebase. What are your thoughts about those technologies? Thanks!
