Unreal Tournament was one of the games I enjoyed most when we had LAN parties. Really really fun :)

It seems like Figma might work in iPadOS now, at least from what I've seen on Twitter. There's some restrictions regarding font and stuff like that, but I guess that could be overcome somehow :)

  • Posted to Prototyping with animation with HTML5 export?, in reply to Martin Mark , Jan 17, 2020

I've been using Axure for the past 6 months now since I joined a new company. It's kind of buggy and slow when you have bigger prototypes, but when it works it's ok.

The HTML export works great though, and we've been using it for client demos, and if they need to show/pitch it to other people.

There is limited support for animation though, so it depends on the needs, but in most cases you can show at least some interaction that requires basic animation

Thanks for this Philip, I needed to refresh my Terminal knowledge a bit and that came just at the right time.

Do you have any future additions planned? Not sure what those would be, but touching on the basics of yarn, ssh and git would be valuable (at least for me).

  • Posted to What programming languages should you learn?, Nov 06, 2019

An answer to this question highly depends on what your background is and why you want to learn a programming language. Are you trying to make mobile apps, websites, art, tools for yourself...?

There are several beginner friendly languages out there, and with the amount of tutorials and guides, it's easier than ever to learn most "popular" ones. That is if you put the work in it...the basic concepts are a bit harder to grasp for beginners, but with practice they become your second nature.

I think the most beneficial for me was the combination of HTML+CSS+JS. That gave me the baseline of:

    • how to structure things in code (elements in HTML)
    • how to make them visually pleasing and behave in a way I want (styling, positioning and animation in CSS)
    • how to bring them to life (clicks, data, interactions in JS)

That being said, I've tried React, Vue and now slowly getting into Svelte, and the basics of JS help so much when learning those. The basics concepts are mostly the same in most of the newer languages, so getting this right is my focus now. (I must say that I'm no developer, though I've developed several iOS apps and websites from scratch, so take what I write with a grain of salt :P)

The amount of accounts and posts some of us report, you'd think there were more mods that handle these, but sometimes I think most of these reports go unnoticed. A better flagging system is needed I guess, so posts and accounts like these get temporary removed until an approval, if too many reports have been filled.
