By "prototyping" do you mean high-fidelity screens with interactions?

If so, I use Sketch + the native InVision integration for long workflows and Sketch + Principle for detailed interactions.

Adobe XD recently got an update that includes a feature called Auto-Animate (https://helpx.adobe.com/xd/help/whats-new.html#AutoAnimate), which works much like the screen-to-screen animating found in Principle. I'm excited to try it out!

    Cheers.

I've heard a lot of digital painters gush over Procreate. For some it can replace the Photoshop + Wacom tablet duo.

I find the iPad Pro to still be quite far from a standalone UX/UI tool, but it's a wonderful companion device to my current workflow. In addition to the apps others have mentioned, some handy uses include:

    • Use as external display when on the go
    • Use as a replacement Wacom Cintiq with Astropad, great for the Pencil tool in Illustrator
    • Sketching ideas in Concepts (infinite canvas vector-based sketching app)
    • Binge watching Westworld

    Cheers.

It can be done with Blender. Totally free open-sourced 3D modeling/rendering/animating. A real gem.

I love how the screenshots work now. You can take one with Cmd+Shift+4 then drag the little preview window directly into Sketch. No more messing around with redundant screenshot files on your desktop :)

Hm...is it me or does the Cooper + Graphik pairing feel off?

I'm not a fan of Brutalism when it's only an ornamental choice (as it is here). It's the same UX as any other website except much less legible—the graphics hardly support the message at all. It's also mega jarring in relation to the clean design of their actual product.

But I do love the comic book illustrations on the How It Works page. https://www.goabstract.com/how-it-works/

It makes total sense from the employer's perspective to simulate a work experience with you prior to hiring. However, there's a pretty clear line between a fair request and making you do unreasonable work to assuage their fears.

If it's a design task that directly contributes value to the company (e.g. "redesign our onboarding workflow"), I would not do it unless I were paid for the time. Even if they don't rip off the deliverable, they will still benefit from your process & ideas.

It wouldn't hurt to respond with a cordial request for comp citing the above reasons. If they decline, it's a red flag regarding their company culture.

In some situations (like evaluating features) you might consider a Max Diff analysis over the Likert scale.

They should at least chunk those items / apply some sort of hierarchy.
