What is the idea/objective for posting this on DN?

The name lead me to believe it was something else, but this is actually really useful. Trying to make these icon patterns manually seems always to be a challenge, since you are basically trying to simulate disorder/randomness yet in a structured visually pleasing pattern.

Working primarily from a retina display, i feel im bounded to work in 2x nonetheless. Though in regards to designing a mobile app, you should always go 1x.

Really like this solution as well for it's simplicity. Great example of this for iOS.

Though i find the major reason to generally avoid putting the placeholder text inside the element as a default, is because users tend to instinctively think a current value is already in place. There are many examples of increased conversion rates, when having the placeholder text fixed above the field at all times instead.

Regarding the last bit, i'd add that it's easier to build close relationships with smaller clients that can last for years. Theres a ton of benefits working with small companies/start-ups, whereas the some biggest benefits for big clients is the higher pay and the reference for later.

A good mix of both small and big is the way to go. I have always offered a separate rate for both.

I think the ability to solve problems is one of the core competencies we develop the most as designers, which effectively translates into any other professional context future on.

    Harsh.

In all honesty a subjective opinion. In continuation of Joseph's first comment stating Eli can't design, i think you just disproved yourself.

It's not your cup of tea? Well me neither. But for you his logo just achieved a lot more than most. It made you think and feel.

If you could only recommend one book that wasn't your own, which one would it be?
