Hey all! I wanted to start the year off right with a new personal site. I wanted to make something a little more fun than the usual portfolio sites I've seen (and made myself) and wanted to give mine more life. All design, 3D modeling and programming was done by yours truly :) Let me know what you think!

As someone who frequents Twitch this looks like a nice update. It's not over the top, it's not throwing out the core structure, it's just a facelift. Everything still feels familiar from a user perspective which is pretty key.

The "blandness" comment is misplaced: this site is a platform for other people to inject their own personality. Pulling back on their own brand is super smart, it's what YouTube and Instagram do really well and what Twitter does pretty poorly. They made it pretty clear that this redesign was focused on bringing their streamers forward.

And why do designers want to do this? Staying fresh and on-trend is sort of a key component of staying relevant. It's a designer's job to be constantly critical of their work, so after some time they're bound to have a buildup of changes.

I have been using the handle threesided for a really long time, and I liked skulls. I wanted something emblematic that combined those two features and landed on this. This was the 2nd version and I've used it for the last 5-6 years probably. I tried updating it, but nothing has topped this one for me!

Thanks for saying that! Avoiding being overwhelming and cheap was definitely the trickiest line to tread. At one point I had animations on all the blobs, and while fun, it was SO over the top.

Hey everyone! I've been hard at work getting this design together and I feel pretty dang proud of it! It's got a lot of quirk and character, something we really wanted to emphasize about our brand.

We're actively looking for new clients, so if quirky is what you need, we have it in spades. :D
