Are you sure read the article?
I elaborated on two specific points on why it is useful, with instances on how it is useful.
I actually just finished putting together a list of some of favorite resources around the topic of product design.
Maybe this help clarify your question: http://drocarmo.com/resources/
Woah, works great. I can't believe I never knew about that feature in QT!
Thanks Marc
Thanks, just tried it out >> http://quick.as/moptzqw
Good tool, but not as sharp/accurate as what I'm hoping to find.. you can see how the interaction lags in the video compared to how it's really laid out: http://cdpn.io/bLlew
Editing/annotating the video would be nice, but mostly looking to capture quick loops of interactions.
I've used LICEcap and RecordIt before, they're ok.. they often export chunky pixelated videos/looped gifs.
Oh, sorry I didn't see Ryan's question or your answer.
Ha! Did you have to design the shape of the board or the artwork? Care to share a photo?
I hear you! Nice plug ; )
(Big ups for doing this AMA, the whole community appreciates it)
How did you get plugged into the opportunity of being the first product design hire at Pinterest? What was the application/interview process like?
Since you were the first product design hire, early on, was there an unfair amount of pressure or demand on you and what you were designing?
At times, did you feel like you were in your own island? If so, share a story or an experience that reflects where the product design team is now compared to when it was essentially just you.
Your work is pretty cool man and I like the fact you support the Bulls.
But, I don't think this is really the platform to put up your portfolio. I would post your work on Dribbble or Behance if you're trying to get some feedback or your name some recognition.
Designer News is more about our Design community getting together to discuss and share current and interesting topics in our industry. Less about self-promotion and work feedback. There's other platforms for that, we don't want to spread DN too thin.
In conclusion, not trying to rag on your portfolio, I just think if we start allowing this to happen, DN will be spreading itself too thin and people will begin to stop visiting it because it's content doesn't really educate the Design community.
Let's make DN better. We're responsible for what goes up on here.

Hello John,
You've once said in your email newsletter, ”designers are conditioned to start/join client-service practices — they are generally trained to solve clients’ problems and not their own“. I love this thought but feel like there's more to unpack in there. Can you expand on this? Particularly, in how/why we are conditioned this way, and how we can go about solving it.
