  • Posted to How do you guys handle multiple variants of a component in a design system? , Nov 13, 2018

We are currently setting up our component library (part of the design system) in Figma. We try to make 1 main component with all the variations of the element placed as flexible as possible. From this component we make Instances and start making the variations by hiding the elements. Those variations than sometimes become part of the library depending on the overall usage.

    So for example:

    Main component: Input field

Placeholder text, Optional text, Label text, Clear icon, Validation/error icon, validation/error text

Instance: Default state for input field

Showing only the: Placeholder text + Label text

Btw. What's up with the text colour of the comment section input field here at DN? It's like i'm typing in the placeholder text.

Anyway hope this gives a clear idea about our workflow!

I just got the Bold Banana, i think it’s a dutch brand. You can customize some elements. Not made for a lot of stuff but the bag stays quit flat and clean when it’s full. Just google Bold Banana.

Hmm.. yeah. I've just found an example of that issue. Definitely not ideal. So basically we have two options for Safari:

    1. Static Safari controls + a bottom tabbar (The native ui takes 16% of the screen)
    2. Collapsing Safari controls + a bottom tabbar (It takes two taps to get acces to the link you want to visit)

The title says 'Introducing Canvas (Marvel)'. So it's an introduction to the fact that Marvel is working on something new named Canvas. And the blogpost + beta is kind of an introduction to it right?
