Ah, I hadn't considered that case...seems a bit tricky.
I haven't designed for TV, but one idea is creating a toggle switch for font size.
You could also see if it's possible to detect TV pixel density either with media queries or JavaScript.
I like the minimalist homepage. Careful with using viewport width units for font sizes unless you set limits on it...your body font size is up to 48px (!) on my desktop and down to 15.6px on iPhone 6!
That's a photo of El Capitan, included with Mac OSX El Capitan as a desktop background. I think most of the readers on designernews.co know a desktop background has nothing to do with the branding of Mollie.
I really just want the site to look the same for more than a couple months...

You could always apply the background image to a pseudo element and reverse skew it.
Edit: oh, I just looked at Parker's codepen which only skews the background. I would skew the entire container, then reverse skew the direct child element containing the text content and reverse skew the pseudo element containing the background image.
