I think you could get away with just using an icon inside the box (no button). IMO the way it's currently rendered looks pretty close to the primary button, which also gives it the same importance.
A subtle chevron icon might solve this by making it look secondary.
Surprised they didn't align this more with Facebook.
Nothing fancy, but I've been sketching/note-taking with a cheap Pentel sign pen (also available in brush tip!) exclusively for almost a year now. Haven't found anything else that matches it in price, nor practicality. It's quick enough for a sketch, and fine enough for written note.
You can see some of some of my notes/sketches with the pen here (starting with the 'Hello Sydney' post).
If remote work is an option for you, I'd definitely explore that. Here are some resources that you might find helpful:
Not sure about Perth, but Sydney and Melbourne's pretty happening for designers.
Yes, we do. Not a lot of difference from the way Google does theirs (https://www.gv.com/lib/how-google-sets-goals-objectives-and-key-results-okrs).
We set 3 OKRs every quarter, where the first 2 is project-related, and the last goal reserved for personal-growth. Then we spar them with the design team to make sure they're aspirational enough, and quantifiable.
I found this question to be helpful when setting my goal; that is, does it make you wanna get out of bed every morning?
I've been using Skitch (tied with your Evernote account). Specifically good for image sharing and when you need the raw image link.
