Most of the effects are created in After Effects and exported to SVG/JS animations. Some of the animations are hand-coded using GreenSock.
HI Kevin, if you are looking for something with regular updates and a great support then GreenSock will be your best bet.

The transitions effect is done using Createjs + canvas masking + GreenSock for animations.
Hi Ansh, some of the creative effects on this site are using Three.js and are rendered on canvas. The animations are done using GreenSock.
How to design an experience like this? I think working very closely with a creative front-end dev is the way to go.
