Since I'm 'western' and read from left to right, the loading bar going the opposite way wasn't really telling me 'we are on our way to being ready'. As in, it doesn't show loading, nor progress.

I know for sure it works practically system-wide on Mac OSX. For Windows, I only know it works in Google Chrome/Photoshop (but I guess it's also system-wide), but some applications might not allow this ability.

Nope, Safari on Mavericks. Not even outfitted with an SSD.
Although I'll be upgrading to one soon though, I do want to do other stuff with this computer than browsing a page about an OS that my computer is outdated for ;).
