Ha, I've 8GB RAM on my Macbook Pro Retina which also has the SSD, but Photoshop's story is still the same. Quite laggy when handling files with a large number of layers. Wonder if there's way to force Photoshop to use the available RAM...

This, but I actually have an SSD and 20GB RAM but still I find Photoshop to be laggy most times with large files, it's not using the entire RAM available, it uses only about 2 gigs of the total free memory which usually hovers at about 12 gigs..

Preferences is configured correctly to use 70% of the RAM. Any ideas? Thanks!

Solving problems whilst looking good.

How are you so sure it's a bad experience without ever testing it? You are just one user? What if it actually turns out that this redesign retains users better? Too many what ifs man. No one knows what works until it's tested.
