Hi all,

This is something my friend Timothy and I quickly put together over the Christmas/New Year break. Tim took a leap of faith and is just starting his career in design (after being a teacher) and I've been in the industry for a few years now. We wanted to document our ups, downs, learning, stories, and thoughts over the year, week-by-week and along side each other.

We're up to week 11 and so far it's been interesting to see the differences and similarities in our journeys, the improvements we've both made (Tim, in his work and me, in my thinking) and how a mentor/mentee relationship has accidentally been established (an unexpected outcome).

We'd love some feedback, if you have some :) We at least hope, that beyond being helpful for ourselves, someone else — either an aspiring or experienced designer — is able to find some value in what we are sharing.

I currently use the Remote app to control my Apple TV. Mostly for the keyboard as searching Netflix can be terribly annoying without it. I'd say that's one main thing missing from me with this concept, a solution to the lack of keyboard.

I wouldn't say it is bad practice, but like others here have said, the decision to use it should definitely be driven by context and data. Simply using it for the sake of 'minimalism' is a little bit silly and thoughtless.
