All clear now. The "as" in your sentence confused me. :)
Can you elaborate on your second paragraph? How do you align to a baseline grid, when you leave your text styles at auto line height (or some other odd number)?
What do you mean?
I've never understood the baseline grid: For body text you usually set the line height to 120-150% of the font size. How does this work out with a fixed 4px base line grid?
To be fair: Only 514 are free. ;)
Looks good though ...
We will see how it plays out - as said, until now I've never needed it. You are right, I was mostly a single designer, but even now with a small design team it hasn't come up yet.
I'm using Figma for some personal projects and I'm just not sold. I agree, that some of their solutions are pretty neat, but other parts are way worse than in Sketch. I also miss all the great extensions from Sketch. Until now the only really intriguing thing is speed - Sketch really can be very slow at some times. Other than that I don't see a clear winner at the moment.
All the other stuff you mentioned might be an issue in your situation and I'm happy for you, that Figma solves that.
I'm missing the part where Sketch tried to kill your Mac several times and Figma bravely defended you. ;)
On the other stuff I don't really disagree: It seems like Figma is the right tool for your team.

Of course it's more nuanced. But most of the times you still land at those values for readable body text.
