Hey Cody, thanks for checking out the site! I do plan on monetizing it in the future, probably in time for Christmas 2019. Affiliates seem like a pretty likely candidate based on the shopping craze the holidays induce, but I haven't ironed out the details just yet.

Thanks Mike! We love speed. The site is entirely static– everything is cached (HTML, CSS, JS, videos, etc.) on CloudFront and the images are optimized with IMGIX. We used Middleman to generate the HTML, and GZIP everything before pushing to AWS. Also, there is minimal JavaScript to load so I think that probably contributes to the experience of a fast page load.

To answer your question: produce awesome content on whatever platform you feel most comfortable using. Great content will almost always trump all other factors for driving traffic to your website.

That being said Cargo is a pretty good choice, as is Squarespace.
