Go for it. My computer is a bit slower than before but I have a 6 year old macbook pro running with an ssd and only 4gb ram. Still faster than any Adobe if I'm honest. Still using Adobe for some stuff tho. (:

Everything you work on it's good and important for improving your skills. Is it better not to do work than do work ? I don't think so ... I have to disagree with you when you say "design is not art ...". You should read more or do more research about the history of design. But I agree, for some it is just a profession :)

Off topic ! Pretty disappointed on @designernews. I posted about Invision's workflow feature before this post. And no one commented on this. Not really bothered but why there is a warning message for posted before !
