You took it that way? A glorified circle-jerk? I took it as highlighting some of the unknown folks that work endless hours behind the scene. get to know the unknowns. Its just a nice picture with a basic bio. They're not over glorifying them or making "rockstar" status claim... right? Did I miss something?

Im feelin your anger, Im a big fan of hating things too... but Im kinda thinking its miss placed a bit here. eh just my read.

I should mention I buy all sorts of random notebooks from places I've traveled to: Cuba, India, Peru, etc... I guess that's a little different that a basic dot grid journal :)

If Im being honest, my favorite method of sketching out ideas for my designers is notecards, the kind you get in a pack. I sketch out the idea and hand it to them to make it happen.

But I absolutely love a well made notebook, the binding, the paper, the overall feel. Its a bit silly to some. Not to me, I love collecting note books.

  • Posted to Ask DN: Name suggestions for design studio?, Apr 04, 2016

I think the name should have personal meaning to you guys or what you guys do. Maybe something related to your friendship? You guys are creative, if you want to treat this venture seriously I recommend approaching the branding of your "studio" with the same level of professionalism you would your clients.

I assure you its the best way to approach the problem. Picking a random name will wither and die. Because why shouldn't it? it never meant anything.

    my 2 cents

I tend to buy notebooks whenever I come across something cool. The one I've liked the most in the past 4-5 years is Action Methods Dot Grid Journal by behance. I still have a few from a purchase I did a couple years ago, I think they still make them... not sure.

I would recommend trying to find a local shop (where you live now) that will give you constant work based on your weekly availability.

This way you don't have to hunt for one-off projects, hunt down invoices and do too much client management.

Build the relationship now with a couple projects so you guys get to know each other, then when you head out you guys will already have a nice system in place.

Try to have this all going before you leave as you don't want to be too distracted from your studies while you're out there.

    My 2 cents.
