Hi James! I came across this thread and wanted to get in touch. I work on the Inspect team at InVision :)
The added spacing ~10px above and below the text field should represent the specified line height which is consistent with how it would be rendered in browser (CSS/HTML). Let me know if this isn't the case as I'd like to look into it further.
How are you liking it so far? Any other feedback or ideas?
Thanks Alex! Lots of work still to do but off to a good start :)
I'm working on adding collaborators to libraries on gethud.com
It depends on what you use Dribbble for.
A lot of people use it as a marketing channel (e.g. Focus Lab), in which case visibility is most definitely important. The same could be said for any product or business, if you aren't exposed to your target audience, you will fail, regardless of how good your product is. Quality work will obviously help, but you still need that launching pad.
You could make the argument that this allows designers who live outside the US to showcase their work to a wider audience.
The same could be said of Twitter. Buffer is filling that void.
I'm slightly biased but check out http://www.onhive.io/ :)
I love that they have taken this approach and are putting more effort into the API.
I can see Wordpress becoming a global datastore for the worlds digital content. Developers and applications can then consume and use that content in various ways via their API (e.g. Wordpress.com).
Thanks for taking the time Tobias. Your work is a huge inspiration to many people within the design community, myself included.
My question is around time management and motiviation. How do you manage/split your time across your many different side projects + day job + life? How do you consistently stay motivated and inspired?
Thanks!
My side project is called OnHive (www.onhive.io).
A Hive brings all your conversations, content and workflows into the one place and removes the need for multiple apps.
I just released the beta last week. Its built using Meteor which I would highly recommend to all designers looking to build out an MVP quickly.

Hey James, that is interesting indeed. You are correct in that we take measurements from the Sketch file. I'd be interested to see if this is a bug Sketch have picked up on, I personally haven't come across it.
Thanks for the nice comments. Glad you are liking it :)
