I hear you Stuart. It's often a risk with startups. So many cool products have been swallowed up.
Regarding the code output, Modulz stores the component data in JSON and maps it to React. But it's not "tied to" any specific library at all. It just requires additional work to support new libraries, which we're planning to do over time.
It's much more closely tied to component-driven development, which is a good thing imo.
Awesome, thanks!
Thanks Rhys, that's awesome!
You're right, this is absolutely aimed at people who don't want to type code manually. It's crazy that we're still drawing static pictures of interactive components. It's so easy to produce a much more powerful output without sacrificing creativity!
We have a Spectrum community. We will be answering questions there over the next few weeks and adding private channels for alpha/beta testers.
The only way to get access though, is to support us.
Hehe, believe me, I've already resorted to searching those kinda sites!
We can't just spell it normally, we need a good domain name and twitter handle. :/
It has been breaking my heart for 18 months now. I had a $1k bounty out a while ago to find a new name, which failed miserably. So, I guess the $1k is still on offer if you wanna take a crack at it :)
Thanks Tony!
You're right, Modulz is similar to Webfow, with a much stronger focus on design systems, component-driven design/dev and modern tooling like React, CSS-in-JS etc.
Have you checked out these new tools?
All three of these new design tools will be launching in 2018 and all three do exactly what you're asking.
