The problem with this article and the non-sense that Eli Schiff was writing about is that they view visual design / aesthetics as some separate layer from the function. The form IS the function.

Yes – at least for now. It's meant as a tool to quickly share content with others, not for personal private notes.

That might change though—thinking about open-sourcing this and encrypting everything client side.

Cause it's a shitty shot. You have 400x300 rectangle to show what you got. If you don't convert on that rectangle, nobody cares about the rest. That's the game.

What are you on about? No one even mentioned pixel hinting or anything related to it.

Of course that using more vector-based graphics in UI is going to be the future, but this is about rasters. Assets with absolute size.

The question is whether we are stuck with @2x, @3x, ... file naming for raster assets given that @1x will be (or already is) less and less relevant. Is it going to be a legacy thing similar to the QWERTY keyboard layout that didn't change even when progress in technology made it nonsensical?

You are not making any sense, Simone.

  • Posted to Opening external source links on the same page. Why?, Mar 20, 2017

Standard behaviour is to open a link within the same page/tab. User can always choose to open link in a new tab with browser-specific actions.

I find it annoying when a site forces target _blank for links. Let me decide what I want to do.
