Seems like text styles now work that way?
I just created a text style from a text element (A) then made two duplicates (B and C) of it.
I left B as-is, and then changed the font size of C. It didn't update A or B like it used to, instead the new symbol icon appeared on the text style list. I clicked the icon and it applied it to A and B.
Not sure why other symbols don't work like that though. Also, having to edit symbols out of context on a separate screen is silly.

I made Movie Times way way back when as a quick proof-of-concept to solve the same problem. Still being used by about 1,000 people all these years later, despite it never being improved upon.
I never pursued it further because it uses Google Movies as an unauthorised back-end so continuing in that way wasn't a good idea, and paying for the listings worldwide seemed impossible. How'd you get around it?
My list of features to add to Movie Times was basically everything you've done in yours, plus you've done even more and taken the UX/UI to a proper level. This is great.
Bit late to the party on this but I think this is a great idea. Here are my first impressions, some of them echoed already by others:
To me the mechanics of your proposition (i.e.: we round up your credit card transactions for you to donate to charity) is confusing at first.
As others have mentioned your CTA is confusingly designed. This is a good opportunity for A/B testing, but at the very least you need to design this to be more clear. Also, why on earth doesn't the "Sign Up Now!" button at the bottom focus the text input that it scrolls you to at the top?
After revealing the navigation (which I think is unnecessarily hidden, and perhaps unnecessary altogether) I thought "Charities" would be a list of charities I can donate to.
Lastly, I agree with Vincent Bé in that overall, the site lacks a strong identity; a soul. Bring your audience in a bit more right at the start... your idea is great, don't make it so hard to figure that out.
It's a good start but it needs a couple more iterations to make it better. That being said, good on you for asking for feedback publicly and for actually shipping it! That's something to be proud of.
Oh for sure, but as you can see in the old one, a derivative of the same basic shape works pretty well and is very clear.

The two folders on the right hand side are my downloads and documents folders for quick access... I use the downloads one all the time.

This is an interesting point, but I wonder if it's still relevant given the context of Facebook Likes (a quite literal "Thumbs Up") being pervasive in the space?

Designer News is a large, global community of people working or interested in design and technology.
I certainly see the utility in having all the symbols at once - it's actually a really good feature. But forcing you to edit them out of context like that is very confusing.
