Whenever I see a 'design trends' blog post, I immediately expect to see a regurgitated list of extremely basic stuff, like "flat design is in!", "more buttons this year!", etc.
This article however was a nice breath of fresh air. The commentary on the warmer palettes we're beginning to see is pretty spot on, pinks and oranges are certainly trending a bit. It's apt considering that Pantone voted coral pink as this years colour.
Nice article Jon, I've circulated it with my team!
I feel the same way you do, Aaron. Tried taking a more holistic view of design to try and see where it was headed. Lots of work happening outside of our computer screens in tangential industries.
Cheers to a great year!
Finally an article about trends that's not about dribbble shots everywhere! I like the analysis from what you see and I agree - more than that, I hope we'll see more of this trends you're talking about, because that's really refreshing.
I’m enjoying the return of analog techniques and ART. I know design and art are very different, but that doesn’t mean they can’t work together :)
Glad you enjoyed it, Miriam. Best of luck in this new year.
