'Top 12 trendiest Dribbble shots in 2018'
Dribbble has a way of attracting the same style of designs for the most part, I feel like I'm watching a site full of people copying each other.
Welcome to the world of digital design
Welcome to the world.
i would love to see any of this actually implemented... these are all extremely staged dribbble shots.
Thanks for your feedback. Some of the examples are real live websites that got SOTD on Awwwards. The article is devoted to the trends, it's not only about the products that were really implemented, but also what designers experimented on this year, what they considered as actual and cool for now and what they would like to try in future products for web and mobile. That is why I suppose examples from active design communities such as Dribbble and Behance are relevant for such a review. In parallel to fashion industry, not all the trends get really adopted and popular for mass market but they are still considered trends and discussed by professionals.

Please don't use this as a reference point of actual implementation. Just because something is in code doesn't mean it's actually implemented design. These are very often sites made only to attract the industries attention. Not only of course - but wether a site has gotten an awwwards SOTD or not, is a very biased point of reference for wether a design was actually implemented. Especially considering that end users don't get a say in what becomes a SOTD, it's designers.
Interface Design Trends though the majority of them are dribble shots.
Therefore they are not interface design or trends. Therefore they are superficial circle jerk initiation devices produced by one copy cat after another.
Dribbble shots are not representative. And these lists have been the same since 2013. Every year features "bold typography, catchy ui animations and creative use of video".
The only actual trend this year were those abstracted, disproportioned human figures that everyone uses, and that trend started in late 2016. Those type of illustrations are very easy to reproduce. So easy, that someone even made a sketch library for it.
"Color Contrast" best design trend I have ever seen, omg :DDDD
So. Many. Dribbble shots.
"Big Hero Images!" could be in every Top Interface Design Trends since ~2012. Fun little read overall, though :P
