What's your long-term vision for this considering Twitter is slowly cutting off third-party apps?

They appear to have relaxed the 100,000 user token limit for apps and have added a link to their developer policy via which one can request raising the limit beyond 1 million users. Should allow us to scale as we go along.

Wow, this is a really great start! Love the 'favourites' tab!

My only comment right now would be a slider to change the fonts size (it's a tad small at the moment), but I assume that's all in the works?

Thanks - we've got some fun things lined up to make the 'favorites' tab even better. And yes, we're working on refining the typography / readability - this is the first beta and Birdie is less than a week old!

Heres a killer feature for you, if you had an ability to detect political tweets in all their forms and just hide it all.

I built a word blocklist thats like 500+ words long and it made my Twitter experience 100 times better when I didn't have to see the daily outrage, sky is falling screams and tiresome hot-takes.

Hmm that's a great idea and aligns well with our goal of making Twitter less noisy / bot-y. However, the blocklist would obviously need to be tailored for each country so it may be difficult to define at the app level such that it works for everyone. But definitely worth digging into - thanks!

Yeah would have to go beyond word blocklists, it's more of a machine learning powered feature I think Twitter should add, if they ever become honest with themselves about the damage their service does to people's mental health.

Pretty cool! I wish the various timeline sections were better explained in the app... the "Top" timeline was showing tweets from people I don't follow, but showed them because someone I do follow replied to it. More transparency in how this all works would be nice, but great start.

Thanks - exactly the type of feedback we were hoping to get! The reason we include such tweets is that interests often overlap between a user and the people they follow. We want users to discover new people to follow, which they may otherwise not encounter. But yes, we could do a better job of explaining what exactly is shown in the Top timeline.
