I've tried dozens and none is able to strike a good balance between complexity and simplicity. It seems that none of these tams have good designers. Or maybe it's that the problem is to hard/complex?(many cos have different needs and is hard to balance all the needs and simplicity)
I like capsule crm.
I just tried it. Looks better than most and it's simple enough. But the main problem I see is that I can't import all my emails in one go. This makes it very easy to bring my pipeline in here
I've heard Basecamp's Highrise is good.
I've looked into it. It looks good, but they've stopped supporting it and they don't allow any more signups. :(
+1 for close. It's not cheap, but it changed our entire workflow. We heavily use Zapier now to get a bunch of data into it, and the built in phone stuff is huge for us.
I guess it can work as a CRM, but it's not exactly designed for that. Could you tell me about how you use it?

We've tried to keep things simple with Stitch - http://stitchapp.co - It's specifically for your creative network so you can keep track of who you work with in once place. Has all the core basic features of a CRM including pipeline management, email integration, notes / files etc.
HubSpot. It’s not perfect, but as far as CRMs go, it’s pretty well designed. It’s also free if you don’t need advanced sales features.

Thanks @Ryan! It'll sound crazy but I've tried them all! Maybe I'm too picky with this stuff. But they are not fulfilling the keys things I think a CRM should do: 1. Easily import your email history for a painless switch. 2. Track how long since you contacted a point person in a deal (aka opportunity) 3. Allow me to input last contact manually (for offline meetings, eg: coffee with lead) 4. Clear visualization of your conversation history for a deal
For me these 3 points are the bare essential. Some extras that are nowhere to be found - Quick and simple information edit/add for a contact/lead/deal - Pull LinkedIn info for my leads

What are your exact needs/industry? CRM definitely does run into the issue of many co's having specific needs. Your problem could also possibly be solved with better process rather than a specific product (hard to know w/o context though).
I was looking for something very simple: - Contacts/Organizations/Leads - Automatic Conversation tracking = integration with gmail. - Automatic Linkedin profile info - Lead progress status
That's basically it. Many do these things but they are very clunky and not very well designed. It makes me think that none of them had a good designer in the team.
