Solid work mate, well done
I think this looks a bit rough. And, it looks like a knockoff of the slack homepage. I think it is sad to see that trends dominate designers so extremely, that they have a hard time breaking out of it.
Don't get me wrong, I think it is executed well, but it also looks like it was built with a designmodo product, like some of those ready made components, just thrown together. That is because I have seen all of the elements in the design before in different contexts. It seems like they are thrown together but missing a red thread that connects all of them.
I think this just needs a bit of iteration to elevate it.
I honestly think it's great. Immediately know what the product is through the tagline and illustration in the hero. The rest of the page is delightful and does a great job breaking everything down.
I know what a challenge this must have been, so kudos to you for making this look like a team of designers had worked on it!
Not great but not terrible either. It looks like a lot of other sites. I'm sure others will have varying opinions, but personally I'm indifferent to it.
What's wrong with the fact that it looks like other sites? It's a marketing site, it's there to help leads find the info they need, not to win creativity awards. Having said that, I think the site fails to do that, the content is pretty but confusing - having looked at the home page I have no idea what these guys do, what the product looks like or how it might help. Those videos are on the right track but they are a few sections down so I'm not sure a lot of people will see them.
How has the site been performing so far August?
What's wrong with the fact that it looks like other sites?
I never stated there was anything wrong with it. My comment was strictly observation. Personally, it's a look that I feel is overused.
Fair enough. I agree it's overused, but that's the case with trends. It will go away and something else will replace it and everyone will start doing it.
Thanks for all the input y'all!
So the hardest part about being on a small team is we are constantly working on building the product, so things like marketing don't get as much attention. Our goal with this site was not to create anything groundbreaking, but to have our visitors understand that our technology focuses on organizing events and connecting attendees with each other. Our target audience is event planners who organize B2B conferences and corporate events.
I'm curious what your thoughts are on replacing the main header text with "Modernize your event management software." vs "Modernize your events and connect people".
Also any helpful tips you've noticed would be great, it's hard to get an outsiders perspective.
Testing two competing ideas is what A/B testing is for. Though my money would be on the first one because it's less vague and actually mentions what you do.
