I didn't see the first experience but I think its way to text heavy. Ain't nobody gonna read all that talk about yourself. Put some tasty work upfront.
Also feels like there is like 3 different navigation layouts to learn here. When i got to Concepts I couldn't figure out how to scroll to the next concept?
Quick notes: - the taglines / story scroll might be nice on mac with touchpad or magic mouse, but it's kinda weird with normal mouse. I use the Logitech MX with 3 step scroll on. - the same i can say about the Concept page, maybe a click on the next line to view it?
Overhaul i think if you fix this things might turn into a nice portfolio.
Eye catching visuals would definitely help. Maybe an image for each concept before you scroll down to see the content? Also noticed that your resume link brings me to an empty page.
Much much MUCH better UX on this go-round, but I would put money on 95% of your visitors scrolling as quickly as they can through all the text to get to what they actually want to see - your work. Just show your work.
Also, you've used the down arrow to mean "scroll down" on the homepage. Then on the concepts, you have to click the arrow. I tried to scroll three times, felt like it was broken, then tried to click it. Keep your interactions consistent.

As Gabriel pointed out, using a normal mouse doesn't work in the concept page (I'm using the Logi MX Anywhere 2). I actually looked for navigation arrows (I think you had them in the previous version) and then pressed the arrows on my keyboard only to find a super slow and jaggy animation.
Resume
I guess this section is very important to you since you showcased as a main navigation item.
The next suggestions were given to me by an HR manager :
Overall try and make it more human, you're basically selling yourself not your skills. In this day and age skills are a dime a dozen (just visit freelancer.com or upwork). If you want to take a look, here is my resume
Hello DN! I have been working hard on improving the experience on my portfolio and I would love to know what your thoughts are! :) Lots of changes are planned, it's still in progress.
