    Do people really calculate their rate by coming up with how much they want to earn and going from there? That seems backwards to me to be honest.

    My own way of finding out my hourly rate was to keep increasing it from project to project as long as clients kept hiring me…

      No, I don't think so, but this exercise was to provide a framework to create a baseline that includes your costs and expected take home, which I think is a helpful to come up with initial rates. I definitely agree that pricing iteration is how you grow in your freelance/consulting career.

    When you do ship V2, show a total and then do some dramatic reveal where money gets taken away by the tax man. Haha
