Figma is like a ninja, they just kind of sneak up on you with their new features. Not like some other companies who beat a dead horse about features before the product is even released.
Figma consistently hits it out of the park.
Nice Update! I've always said Figma has the greatest chance at overtaking Sketch. The most underappreciated feature is that it works on Windows/Mac/Chrome OS.
The way that the hover state has been implemented is unusable. Replicate an entire artboard for only a hover change doesn't make sense. What we need is this kind of actions in the component level. Please!
PS: It was a great step anyway. Thanks Figma!
Do you think it's possible to simulate an expandable object like an accordion?
Anybody able to re-create those drop-down hover animations on prototypes? I just had a go at fiddling with it. Could anybody do a quick Loom vid?
Interactions & Prototyping in Figma looks boss, thinking of making the change from Sketch.
I've been looking for this too. I'm guessing, unfortunately, that that drop-down hover animation was done by connecting those elements to 3 different art-boards of the same page, each with the proper link highlighted. And I thoroughly don't want to have to have 4 art-boards of the same page just for a dropdown hover state.
That's just a guess, after having fiddled around with it some though.
Seems to be the case.
I guess it's a stop-gap solution until Overlays are implemented.
I was hoping that these would be component based and not frame based.
Praise Figma
Okay this convinced me. I'll this this Figma, goddamnit!
Overlays are a necessity. Seems to be missing from this release. They are a pleasure to work with in Adobe XD.
I have pretty much entirely switched from Sketch to Figma, and this really seals the deal.
The only thing I still need is a proper stacking system, since Figma layout grids don't really do it for me.
Great work Figma team!
