Good press release, but I always find lines like "Anima’s products are being used by individual designers at Fortune 500 companies like Apple, Google and Facebook" hilarious. Sure, a designer downloaded our plug-in to try it out and never used it again, let's name drop their prestigious employer.

It's always good to namedrop when doing press!

Even better if you have paying customers from said companies :)

I find it a little bit unnerving that Anima is relying on one of two outcomes:

    1. Sketch will never implement these sorts of features into their core product.

    2. Sketch will acquire the Anima team.

If Sketch decides to introduce all of these features inside of Sketch, there's no real reason to continue with Anima.

Can totally understand where you're coming from.

There are 2 things to consider when looking at our strategy.

      1. We focus on generating code from designs. Our way of doing that is by empowering designers to express exactly what they envision so that we can take that and convert it into actual code. Our core technology is not in Sketch but on our servers. Our Sketch plugin is the front-end. We do plan to expand the ways to use us to other platforms.

      2. Not to toot our own horn, but the technology behind the things we do (like Auto-Layout, Stacks, Timeline) is not trivial. I think what makes Sketch so successful is their laser focus in doing what they do best. And that is vector design. For any company to try to do everything at the same time will be extremely hard. That's why we focus on generating code, and not on building yet another design studio.
