Hit up my Kickstarter.
It's not inclusive enough.
What upsets me is that the corner of the black stripe isnt rounded like the others and it doesnt align with the border of yellow and green.
"Quasar, who is currently running a Kickstarter campaign to produce the new design..."
Can't make this stuff up.
Is literalism killing our symbols?
Nailed it in the first line of the article. Actually nailed it. That's like someone complaining about the floppy disk icon for saving. Or the phone with dail pad for phone number. Or ... well literally any other SYMBOL that's "WRONG".
It's not wrong. It's a symbol. Move on.
Totally agree, I felt the same way. I think humans should have the capacity to understand that a symbol with 6 colors can adequately represent more than 6 concepts. The rainbow itself is supposed to be an overarching symbol for inclusivity. It's not supposed to act as the literal representation of an enormous acronym.
The bigger disaster are those giant heading fonts at quartzy
So hard to read!
I see nothing wrong with another interpretation... if you google pride flag you get many variations. Even trying to figure out a conscious on what the colors even mean are different.
I don’t think anyone is saying it isn’t ok or good to explore alternative solutions. This one is just much worse than the current one because it added complexity and doesn’t personify acceptance or unity nearly as well.
Agreed. Literally, the rainbow is a spectrum. It works conceptually. No need to add complexity to it.
why is quartz shitting on this random kickstarter project?
Gosh that flag is a joke. It is not inclusive at all… The term RAINBOW flag is about every colors of a rainbow… It is a SYMBOL… What is the point about adding other colors. I will share and not support that thing
Ya, these new "inclusive" variations are complete disasters.
