Really cool! Reminds me too of Sagmeister & Walsh.
We love S&W. Absolutely their site is what started us on this path. I actually went to a lecture by Sagmeister the other week!
That's super cool! How was the lecture?
It was eye-opening. It was based around the idea of beauty and its place in design nowadays, given our highly functionality-based world. As a UX designer, it made me think about my work in a bit of a different way.
Man, was there a recording or anything?
This is probably the best interactive experience I've ever had with a website. Loved it and we were so geeked out at my agency.
Managed to get some waves from the Keen guys.
Nice work!
This is just the best xD
Hi all, my studio Keen as recently released a new website that aims to make visitors to our website feel a bit more like they're actually visiting our studio.
We've built a live chat and a webcam feed using a Raspberry Pi to connect to our visitors - and it's been working quite well. Check out the Medium article for more:

Loved it! My only critique now having been back when you're not around is can seem very off putting to potential clients if thats the first interaction.
How about just a static version and then the live version is just bonus when its on.
Right - we agree. We are debating on how to best accomplish exactly that and have some ideas but have not written code to accomplish it yet.
Maybe next time you visit, if we're not around, you might be pleasantly surprised!
This is really neat! Though I visited the site at 1am Keen time, and was confused as to what I was expecting to see – perhaps there is opportunity for a unique fallback when the web cam solution is not live. After seeing the gifs and comments I realised what I'm missing out on :(
this is amazing!
Love this idea, love the website. Sadly everyone was home for the evening when I checked it out.
This is really, really well done. Honestly have 0 critiques....except, who writes "12:11" as "0:11PM"? That's crazy!
Bug! Got a pull request sitting in GitHub already. But thank you!
Heck to the yes.
lol..just checked in and got a nice 'wave' from the guys.... damn what a great idea :)
Stamped it.
This is so cool! Chatting with the team was extra fun!
'Cat Videos'
Nice. Good chat. Thanks for stopping by!
I gotta think this new website has drastically decreased production levels with strangers contacting you all day?
Today was shot. Designer News sent a surprising amount of traffic our way and we basically had one person keep up with the incoming chats full-time. Worth it!
Awesome to see something so nice and fresh! Awesome job <3
Awesome idea! I Just had a quick chat with the guys and it was absolutely fantastic! :)
I thought this is a coming soon / 404 page. because the page says
"Sorry, we’re not around." "Come back soon"
From a screenshot here, I got why that message came, but for a first time user, I don't know that is a chat area and I don't expect that in the header.
May be you should use normal title instead of the negative title.
Just a few cents.
Totally hear ya. We're actively brainstorming ways to improve the UX for when we are out of the office and the chat is disabled. Maybe next time you come by we'll have pleasantly surprised you!
