Great idea having live sessions with designers showcasing their workflow - helps new designers coming into this field.
Comments so far:
Calling Adobe XD a detailed prototyping tool is a bit of a stretch. You're basically creating clickable slides - just like in Invision. And transitions are not interactions.
So far no real discussions about other aspects of user experience (i.e. IA, IxD, usability, etc) - it's mainly about reviewing the visual design of the submitted UIs.
Most of the submissions had really bad contrast, light text on white or grey on black and it wasn't mentioned - seriously?
Slight issue with the term UI / UX. As we all know UX is not just one thing and UI is just one subset of it. I would have titled it 'Digital Product Design with...'. Using 'UI/UX' or vice versa just gives me the impression that it's about creating pretty pictures and "sprinkle some UX" on top.
Hi Adrian, thank you for the thorough feedback. These all areas that we can look to improve upon for future live sessions. On your second suggestion, other aspects of user experience (like IA, IxD, etc.), is there one you would like to see above the others? Also, is there anyone you consider an expert in that area? The team is always looking to bring in different guests for the live sessions.
Best,
Kyle
Hi Kyle,
I appreciate this event is probably to promote Adobe tools, hence why the focus so far was more on the production side of things.
But for newcomers to this field, talking about the softer skills is equally important.
In terms of other designers to invite, here are some:
Jonathan or Cynthia from http://www.tragicdesign.com/#about-the-book
Ryan Singer https://www.feltpresence.com/
Paul Stamatiou https://paulstamatiou.com/
Anton Sten https://www.antonsten.com/about/
Really good feedback, but please, make sure to share it on the live stream! That is the entire reason we are doing these live, so we can have realtime conversations around design.
Hi MIke,
having deeper conversations about the above topics is really hard in a small chat windows, where it would quickly scroll out of view, because you get a lot of hello and kudos messages.
This forum format is better suited for longer conversations in my view.

Kinda liked the part where Pablo totally didn't use the repeater grid feature and duplicated list entries one by one. Some guys on the Adobe UX team might've fainted :D
