As smart as Silicon Valley has gotten with A/B testing to iterate and increase DAU as much as possible, the detriment it's had on society is undeniable. For people who want tech to serve them instead of us serving tech, this seems like a great solution.

While I realize the perils of asking for one more feature in a product with such intentional limitations, I would want to maintain a good camera in a device like this.

It would also be interesting to see an Android variant development that could run on our existing photos that turned them into a simpler and less distracting/tempting device.

... But why? I understand how they're trying to differentiate themselves, but you can buy a budget Android phone with better specs for less. I couldn't justify buying this just for the limited specs and hardware features alone.

I know that's not the point, but it rubs me the wrong way I guess.

You can get a $20 "feature-phone" / burner from a supermarket which is... dare I say... better.

This is a neat little idea. A bit expensive for what it is, but an e-ink display phone is a great idea for extending battery life. And I'm loving the nod to the Zune / Metro design language with that UI.

I like the general idea, but I don't really want to spend money on yet another device.

Being more self-aware about device usage is probably a more realistic approach. That balance is different for everyone though.

I don't always want to go "Light". Wish there was a way to easily swap/sync between this experience and normal smartphone. Also, no camera is a dealbreaker.

Add playlists/bluetooth for listening to music while exercising and I'm buying one!

The more social media/apps/tech I've cut out of my life, the happier I've been.

This looks like a really great update on the feature phone. I'd need email so I'm selected out of the target market, unfortunately.

I was just looking for a phone like this last week. I think I'm going to go with the next version of the MP01 once they add 4g.
