I noticed it and I'm pretty sure I'm gonna just go with a note 8. I know everyone wants to use the "but everyone uses bluetooth!!!! NO one uses headphone jacks!!!" thing as an argument but any subway commute of mine has more than half of any subway car with people with wired headphones on. It's poor product design in order to force an idea on people before it's ready. Not everything that pushes technology "forward" works. It's also a pretty poor show of confidence to go this route and then to continue to use headphone jacks on your thousand dollar laptops (both companies do this).

This isn't as simple as it was from say VCR to DVD to Bluray to Digital or floppy drive to eventual digital digital distro because unlike those, which had more pros than cons to begin with and improved in later iterations and had much greater capacities, blue tooth headphones require charging, and have lower quality to price ratios on average. Those are pretty huge negatives.

Even adding a second USB-C slot is more evolutionary than simply removing a jack that takes up little to no space on a phone and provides no more water resistance than it's peers.

The ear bud portion of these is nearly identical to the AirPods. The only difference is Google has likely sacrificed some functionality/battery life by not adding the extended stalks the AirPods have. I have no issues with my AirPods, in fact I love them. They stay in my ear, last a long time on a charge, and the case is small and easy to carry around. I guess I'll be that guy but it appears Google is playing catch up to Apple here.

It is such a bizarrely improbable coincidence that something so mind-bogglingly useful could have evolved purely by chance that some thinkers have chosen to see it as a final and clinching proof of the non-existence of God.
