This article resonates with me quite a lot. I find the burnout all too real all too often. It's why I engage in motorsport as a hobby - from building my car, to the R&D around my performance modifications, to taking it out onto the track. There's a heap of knowledge to learn, and it's completely different to the design work I do.
Having a manual hobby which requires physical work is my escape from the screen. After spending 8-9 hours (on a good day!) in front of a computer, being able to focus on something physical helps my state of mind a lot.
I so badly need to start playing basketball again!
I loved reading every second of this. What a wonderfully happy article.
Also, I'm 100% stealing "Make shit for fun."
Jinju (I hope I'm pronouncing that right) thanks for writing this. Hat tip to Marc too for sharing.
What a great read. Made me excited to draw again.
