Holy mother of sons. That's unworkable on PC/Chrome. I have to scroll with two fingers to scroll fast enough to make it go to the next section.
I hope whomever's portfolio this is know of that issue, since there might be people looking at this on Windows.
(No seriously - literally the single worst scrolling site ever on PC.)

Is scrolling on PC ever enjoyable? I mean generally I agree scroll-jacking is bad, but I've seen far worse implementations than this.
Also keyboard navigation works. Again wouldn't be an excuse on most sites, but I can appreciate the experiment.
You don't understand - in my browser & OS combo, I literally have to use two fingers to scroll fast enough.
As in it's bugged.
"Is scrolling on PC ever enjoyable" is a bit of a short-sighted thing to say when someone reports an bug. Do you talk to everyone like this?

Relax man, my comment was mostly a joke, although scrolling on PC is shit even in normal circumstances (not spiraling away into infinity).
I think there is room for experimental websites that try something new like this. Particularly when there is great keyboard fallback using either your arrow keys or spacebar.
If you really care about the scrolling on PC that much, Tweet the developer and tell him.
Hehe, point was more that they might care about it. It's not my website!
For the record; I've really not seen worse implementations. That's how bad it is on PC.

Todd Padwick, over 6 years ago It's clever, and trying new things so fair play to the guy, but I found it incredibly frustrating and it really didn't make we want to explore it. Ended up closing it before I even reached any work.

I'm with you on this one- for the type of work that Nick likes to do, its dead on. I also just appreciate it for being different than 99% of the other portfolios out there.

And if you try to bump up the text to a more readable size, you find that they went out of their way to prevent you from doing what you want:

I don't keep a list of favorites, but standout portfolios all share something in common for me: effective balance of technical showmanship and accessibility.
Plenty of portfolios make an impression without imparting useful information, deliver information artlessly, or fail to do either. Any time an individual or organization nails both, it strikes deeply.

That huge green banner if you aren't logged in is quite a turn-off though.
I love the idea of the service, but something about it tells me not to invest the time.
Todd Padwick, over 6 years ago Thats true... but I've still found it better than any alternative the past 6 months. I use it quite a lot. Completely stopped using pinterest for web design now. What do you prefer to use to collate your inspiration/screenshots?
I've pretty much stopped collecting my own inspiration content for design except the rare occasional image sent to Pinterest (and usually only of a design element, not a whole website). I find I more often search for new inspiration when I need it rather than going back into the archives for stuff. The effort put into finding a decent service and maintaining my collection outweighed the benefit I got from it.
Also, been enjoying Focus Lab's redesigned case studies
