Mike Wilson, almost 6 years ago I know I'm going to be the outlier here but I don't understand why people on DN and Dribbble fawn over everything Stripe does.
All I see is a generic landing page with way too much copy, a lack of visual contrast and poor typographic hierarchy. I guess because pastel gradients?
I do appreciate that they don't use full-bleed cheesy lifestyle photos, but I still come away from this page struggling to understand their value proposition. Content strategy / copywriting issue? I agree halfway. They should be much more concise and bold with their verbage.
Copy aside, this layout and design are fine-tuned. The design conveys professionalism and trust on another level. Calling it generic is certainly an outlier position.

I'd bet they are. The Stripe people strike me as the type that would want to control every last detail of the animation.

It's Benjamin De Cock and his team. He's always been someone I look up to for their attention to detail. His old website had a little metal case that would pop open (all CSS animations) and it was so satisfying.
