How do you monitor all your social network channels?

6 years ago from , Product Designer

There are a variety of apps out there for viewing multiple feeds of on the same social network (e.g. Tweetdeck allows you to monitor multiple twitter accounts). Does anything (worthy) exist that shows a combination of all the socials (Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc..)?

Posting to each network is part of my blogging/vlogging workflow. I bet I spend an hour or so for each video curating my content. Buffer is great for link sharing but I can't see each app at the same time and using about 10 different apps to do different things doesn't scale..

Hopefully this makes sense. How do you manage it? Especially if you manage client social media marketing efforts.

Uh jabronis, he isn't looking for life advice on what social media networks to keep on his phone or not.

He is asking about monitoring all his networks from a single app for cases like managing a brand's social media.

I used Hootsuite for a little bit, not in a professional capacity, but it worked well. I like the IFTTT and slack implementation already posted as well.

Thanks man! I guess the way I worded my question confused people? OR they just didn't read...

    Not worth it for me.

Simliar to Sarper, I've removed all networks off of my phone (except for LinkedIn) and turn off all push notification except from loved ones.

Reason I keep LinkedIn on the phone is to be a reminder of when I've hit my low. If I'm scrolling through the LI feed, something is amiss.

Many social media managers seem be geared towards giant organizations that can throw some money at this - they don't even list their price, everything is a custom setup and contact for more information (I hate that).

For the smaller business/personal use, these are somewhat reasonably priced but might not have all the features that you need.

    Hootsuite $

    Sprout Social $$

    Send Social Media $$

    Social Pilot $

    Buffer for Business $$$

There's a lot more out there with various capabilities and it can get overwhelming quick. Best way to figure out what works best for you is identify what you want to do (Post to networks? Monitor engagement? Monitor competitors? Identify influencers? Which networks are non-negotiable for you?) and find out which checks as many boxes as possible. You might still need multiple solutions, but at least one of these should help.

I have a #data room setup in Slack which is basically a dumping ground for all the integrations that aren't relevant to a specific room. I then use https://notify.ly/ which is free/beta for now and it monitors quite a few channels. The premium ones haven't been built yet, but I understand most other people user IFTTT or Zapier to fill those gaps.
