Setting icons as masks to fill color symbols is pretty dope.

This is how I manage tab bars, I can't believe it has taken so long for this to be an incredibly easy way of doing it but its here.

Haha, it was the easiest way to colour coordinate groups. Haha. Also bit of emoji love puts a smile on my face :P

I think it would be great if Sketch added dividers, or some sort of visual separator to help distinguish nested symbols. That's really the only reason I added emojis!

Oh totally, I would love (now that at least to me symbols feel more useful and flexible) that more control was given. Better ways to organise symbols without names like "icons/large-set/home" just so they appear in folders would be great, as well as "tricking" the system with 1px variations.

As designers start getting smarter with the tool, the tool needs to keep up haha.

I've used this technique for my last project and it's incredible! We changed our entire Style guide to be like so and now even our Product people can whip up quick mocks together easily. Highly recommended.
