YouTube testing new design

YouTube Material Design It looks like YouTube is testing new design with Material Design. I got two google chrome accounts, and one of them uses the new youtube layout. Opening YouTube in incognito shows the old layout.

If you click the exclamation mark button, a popup opens where you can report bugs or features, it also takes a screenshot. Clicking on the exit button, a popup opens with different choices and it'll take you back to the old layout.

Anyone else got the new design?

    The get the new design, you can enable it through editing one of the cookies. Delete the cookie named VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE and then run this in the console document.cookie="VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE=Qa1hUZu3gtk;path=/;domain=.youtube.com";

        Try to run this:

        document.cookie="VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE=;;expires=Thu, 01 Jan 1970 00:00:01 GMT;path=/;domain=.youtube.com"; document.cookie="VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE=Qa1hUZu3gtk;path=/;domain=.youtube.com";

      Nice, thanks for posting this! I posted a non-console version below. Maybe you could add it to your comment?

      1. Download the extension EditThisCookie

      2. Click on the EditThisCookie icon and click the "Trash" icon to delete your cookies, then refresh the page.

      3. Click on the EditThisCookie icon again and click "VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE" so it opens the panel.

      4. Delete the current tag and input "Qa1hUZu3gtk" without quotes.

      5. Click the green tick and refresh your browser.

    They are also testing a suggested video that shows up in the middle of what you are currently watching for the last 10 seconds or so.

      Oh wow, that's terrible. I get that they want users to watch more videos and stay on the site, but they're forgetting the primary action a user wants to accomplish on the video player page is... playing a video. This totally blocks and annoys a user to the point I would want to watch the "suggested" video less than if I saw it in the sidebar.

    It just updated the search bar. No update on the panel, user name and footer.

      Yeah, unfortunately. If you want the full new UI, you gotta be logged out. I have not yet found a way to get the full new UI whilst logged in.
