LMS Software

over 6 years ago from , Web Designer

Hi DN Community,

I have this client project and my client is looking for a few features and I am wondering if there is a system already created for this.

He has these 1-2 day courses that he teaches in person. The site needs a sign-up form which can generate an invoice and also adds the user to an attendance roster. I want the ability to add / edit the roster. I think having some kind of user database would be important too for future upsells, etc. The possibility to scale in the future to offer online material would be ideal.

I originally wanted to use something like Freshbooks that would tie into the form and such, but I'd rather use a system that is built for this kind of thing.

Any ideas so far? I'm not using any kind of CMS.

Thanks, Brian

I would try using Wordpress with a few plugin like LearnDash (run the LMS type content/users) and EventEsspresso (to manage the event roster etc). This combination should tick all the features that you need.

Try ERPNext. It has a schools module that has/will have an LMS. It is also open source.

    (I used to work there)

I'm not 100% sure if you are asking for actual tangible software or an application to handle this for you? I'm also not sure if there's anything open source for such a set of features but a couple of pre-existing SaaS applications come to mind.

If anything they may be good sources of inspiration to build your own app. Easier said than done though!

We can make the system you want. Right now, we are developing such system for our client.

I don't know of any such systems but I think you'll have a better chance of getting an answer on developer communities like stack. You could also try sites where people sell software like codecanyon (it may be a pretty bad example but it's the only one I know).

Didacte will let you do this pretty easily. In-person attendance has been added recently, and the team & support is ace.
