Studio phone recommendations?

almost 7 years ago from , Design + Technology + Strategy

I'm curious what those with smaller studios are using for their phone systems. We mostly use Slack/Skype/Hangouts and our business number is forwarded to cell phones. But as we're growing, we need something more advanced. Not all of us are ok with giving out personal cell phone numbers to clients, so we'd like something that would let us reliably and easily get calls to our business number through an app on our computers or cell phones. We've tried using a SIP client (Zoiper) but it's not a very good experience — especially on mobile. Any suggestions for a solution that just works?

We're using the Slack and Google Hangouts combo since it integrates nicely with how we communicate in the offices.

Though a previous agency I worked for leveraged Slack and RingCentral, which worked out quite well. It resolves that issue of giving out personal cell numbers to the client — as it handles business calls and extension forwarding through an app. It took a little bit to get acquainted but the whole system works nicely.

Google voice lets you forward a new phone number to multiple numbers. You could use it as a business phone system.

I don't know of anything more sophisticated than that unfortunately...
