Used this do some visuals for a client recently and very impressed. Since switching to a Surface last year the only thing I've really missed was Sketch as PS really doesn't do it for me for quick layout designs etc.

Great to see this. Really hope Affinity Designer comes soon too. One of my hesitations in moving way from a Macbook on my (secondary) machine is not having non-Adobe design software (Sketch, Affinity, Framer, etc).

I hope they roll out a cross-platform license upgrade. That would be neato.

Can anyone help me to understand if I can use this free Beta version in my commercial development? Thank you.

From a license point of view it's not a problem. Of course the main thing is that it is a beta so we wouldn't normally recommend you using it for commercial projects as it could crash / you may lose work

Great addition to the Windows family. I hope Sketch folloes suit.

I remember some ago they claim it wasn't possible to bring Affinity to Windows becuase they made use of some OSX specific tools. Glad to see they saw the sense in porting it over to windows.

I'm not sure we would have said that, as we always planned for cross platform support so didn't really make any of our code reliant on any OS specific stuff. Our back-end is pretty much identical on OSX and Windows, it's only the front end UI we need to write specifically for each operating system

I think you're right. I might be confusing Affinity with Pixelmator Do you plan on supporting the Surface Dial ?

This was something that Bohemian Coding said about Sketch.

        Yup, on their FAQ page:

Is Sketch available for Windows or Linux?

Due to the technologies and frameworks exclusive to OS X that Sketch has been built upon, regrettably we will not be considering supporting Sketch on either of these platforms.
