How much system memory are you using right now?

With all the debate around what Pro users need, I thought it would be interesting to do a quick survey of the system memory we're using on a normal work day. This is not for Mac users only, this is for creators in general.

  • I'm on a Macbook Pro Mid2014.
  • Activity Monitor shows I'm using 14.58 of 16GB.
  • I'm running Sketch (2 files, 9 pages, bunch of artboards), Framer, Chrome (16 tabs), Skype, Slack, Outlook, Sublime, GitHub, Terminal and quite a number of background tasks. I haven't had any issues or slowdowns.

    iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2014), 4 GHz Intel Core i7, 32 GB 1600 MHz DDR3, AMD Radeon R9 M290X 2048 MB Mail Safari (15 tabs) and Chrome (2 tabs) iTunes playing music Word (1 doc <1mb) Photoshop (2 files, 200mb each) Illustrator (nothing open) Messenger

    I'm at 23.30GB of 32GB... and this is not heavy use. usually have a few indesign docs open.
