I absolutely hate this brutalism trend. I liked the approach in typography and color, but what are those mouseover image backgrounds? No. (of course a subjective opinion)

The VSCO app is becoming increasingly harder and harder to understand and use. I was using it tonight for the first time in a few weeks. I'm a power user in all facets and I had a really hard time figuring out their icons and how to move around the app. This brand gets on my nerves every time it designs something and releases it.

What exactly is VSCO today? I remember spending a fortune on Lightroom presets back in the day but it seems they used the funds to pivot into a media company catering to hipsters?

Whatever "ism" this might be, This is just too difficult to use, and that's all that matters.

I love VSCO's Lightroom packs, but I've gotta say that their value proposition gets more and more muddled with each redesign. Are they pivoting to become a media company... or are the articles designed to showcase the work of VSCO customers/users? Are the articles (VSCO Originals) the new product, or an ad for the product (VSCO Cam)?

I understand that deliberate obscurantism is, in a way, part of VSCO's brand, but it's beginning to feel like a bit of a crutch for a company that isn't quite sure how to move forward.
