Sketch Text Bug with Centered Text on Multiple Text Boxes

over 6 years ago from , Sr Experience Designer at OpenTable

Hey guys, I've got this subtle bug in Sketch where text of the exact same style is centered differently within different text boxes. Check out the images below, and note the identical styles.

First text boxSecond text box

This is how I feel

Any ideas how to solve this or avoid this in the future?

    What version?

My guess is, no fix, and it's another bug(feature). I can't get anything to even do a simple align to bottom properly and have given up on trying to make anything look good.

You know that from the images as you posted them, without any indication to what you actually mean, it's not clear what you're saying?

Hey Andu, you do have to look closely. In the first image I select the first text box, and the second, I select the second. The point is that nothing has changed in the right panel – all x and y values are the same, width and height are the same, text parameters are the same.

The thing that is not the same is where the text is vertically located inside its bounding box.

I personally see no difference due to not being able to zoom the images, nor being visually clear.

Ah... zooming.. yes, I see the problem. When I embed images, they are not zoomable. Thanks for the heads up.
