Can you enlighten us lowly junior designers on what exactly the hierarchical disaster here is?
How can they define color for text with opacity?
Why not?
It's a flexible solution that works with multiple font and background colors.
It also matches how it's implemented, which is well documented in the Material guidelines. Nothing wrong with it.
I don't see anything wrong with this. It is a placeholder which would be styled by CSS. The same CSS can then also be used for the input text with opacity set to 100%.
rgba(0,0,0,0.38) would just become rgba(0,0,0,1), or opacity: 0.38; to opacity: 1; which are much simpler changes than working out that the colour needs to be #9c9c9c.
not seeing the issue here..
I don't get it. I'm more concerned over the use of Photoshop for these kind of UI assets...
Hey, this is something I stumbled on while digging deeper in Material Design resources from Google. I don't understand how this can be even possible...
