Just used Principle for the first time yesterday. It was amazingly easy and fast to get what I wanted. Can't believe I haven't used it sooner! Great tool, thanks.

So, dumb question, but how is this different from inVision and is there any export/import functionality between Principle and inVision?

Love the new components ... this is HUGE!

The one thing that stops me from buying any of these prototyping apps is EXPORT!! Why is there not a non-proprietary way to share this stuff? It's ridiculous to send my client a video or a Principle file ... and same for developers ... PLEASE make this a reality and I'll happily throw my $ at you.

How is this ridiculous? There's an option to interact with the prototype in high-fidelity, as well as an option to see the prototype without needing to install anything.

The ideal would be to be able to interact with a prototype without installing anything (which implies a web solution), but as Principle uses native elements doing so would be a massive undertaking. While this would be nice, I don't think it's unreasonable not to offer it, as they've provided other usable options.

To be fair, I was unaware Principle was capable of exporting a stand-alone Mac app, which is actually pretty cool (unfortunately that standalone app also includes your source files, which means you better be ok with anyone stealing your work, if that matters... besides the point here).

But honestly, if your focus is on building web apps (like mine is), even a standalone Mac app is not an acceptable solution. The web is an INCLUSIVE environment, and right now all these prototyping tools are giving a huge finger to anyone who isn't living within Apple's ecosystem.

It's fine to build your software however you see fit for whichever OS you choose (and I'm thankful most these are built for Mac, since that's what I'm building with), but I don't build for Apple users only and I get the feeling I'm not the only one.

A web-based testing environment would be the feature that opens my wallet in a heartbeat, but I'd be thrilled with just an option to export animation values and settings so it would be easier for handoff to a developer.

Definitely solved one of the big pain points. QC kinda crisis averted, I'd say. Love the new update, I'll definitely give it a try.

This update seems like it will be a big deal. Being able to have sub-artboards for things like button hovers is a HUGE time saver

I'm so excited to use Principle again in my next project, knowing I won't need an absurd amount of artboards and states :)

Awesome feature ! Now if i update an imported components (principle file) which is synced via Dropbox or whatever with my team would this components update itself alone accordingly ? Or would i need to restart Principle or something like that ?

Excited for this update. I really love Principle - probably my favorite prototyping tool out of what's out now - but the biggest drawback is that trying to prototype anything that has complex interactions and is more than a couple screens gets really unwieldy. If they've managed to figure out a good solution for that, it'll definitely be the best tool out, at least for what I need. Looking forward to trying it out.
